Medway Village, Marulan
Located on the Eastern side of the existing town centre of Marulan, Medway Village is a proposed re-zoning of a land site overlooking the Southern Tablelands with tremendous potential to be a thriving and stunning community entailing residential rural lifestyle homes and a historic influenced character village for locals and tourists alike. Medway Village will have approximately 1,000 residences, a minimum of 10 retail and tourism shops/galleries/boutiques, and a diversity of housing from villas and small single family residences surrounding the village centre to larger residences and rural acreage lots within the community. All homes will reflect the historical and rural natural characteristics of the Southern Tablelands, while incorporating contemporary design.
Medway Village is the halfway stop between Sydney and Canberra and will thrive as a local and tourist village creating a projected 660+ permanent jobs, comprising 159 full time jobs, an additional 295 full time jobs in the Shire, with a ‘flow-on’ effect of an additional 660 jobs from the expenditure of additional personal and business income. None of these jobs include those created during development of the subdivion and housing, which would constitute as further employment for the region.
For a greater community
Medway is the only residential subdivision in the Goulburn Mulwaree Shire that will:
- Create long-term employment within development;
- Provide affordable housing with diversity of lots; and is,
- The only planned ESD (Environmentally Sustainable Development) in Marulan with all of the features including a Telstra Smart Community
Support Medway Village
Medway Village, Marulan has the support of the Goulburn Mulwaree Shire Council and was recommended to be on the Local Environmental Plan (LEP) for exhibition.
The Department of Planning asked Council to remove Medway Village from the LEP exhibition. This website has been created to obtain support from the community to re-submit Medway Village development to the Department of Planning for re-consideration for the re-zoning.
We would like community support to see that this outstanding project goes ahead!
