Town & Attractions
Living in Marulan is treechange living at its best. Set amongst the stunning countryside of the Southern Tablelands, the existing Marulan township encompasses Victorian public architecture from the late 1860s including the railway station, the St. Stephens Uniting Church built in 1875, and the Royal Hotel, built in 1870. A fine Georgian-style Police Station and a Post Office are located on the main street as well as all of your other basic necessities.
Sports & Recreation
Just south of the village, approximately 30 minutes by car, is the Morton National Park and Ettrema Wilderness where you will find Fitzroy Falls and special lookouts such as Badgery Lookout and Longpoint Lookout. Here you will discover wonderful views of the Bungonia and Shoalhaven Gorge. All forms of sports including bushwalking, canoeing, kayaking, climbing, mountain biking, liloing, caving, and walks are enjoyed by many at Morton National Park. If you classify wine tasting as “recreational”, you won’t be disappointed with the wide choice of award-winning, cool climate wineries within 40 minutes drive of Marulan. Kemilworth Gardens, The Highlands Equestrian Centre for horseback riding, Tree Tops Guesthouse, and Armoured Vehicle Adventures are just a few of the many local and tourist attractions of the area. Plus there are many unique arts and crafts galleries in the surrounding areas and adjoining towns of Bundanoon, Exeter, Bowral, Mittagong, Moss Vale, and Goulburn.
Climate
The Southern Highlands/Tablelands offers a true seasonal climate from warm summer days to cool winters, autumn colours in the fall, and flowery spring days. In the summer Marulan has relatively low humidity making for pleasant summer days, with cool evenings making for a nice break from the sun.
